Founded in 1991, Sus Scrofa is one of the two first french pagan black metal bands (Alongside PROPHECY), with strong animistic approach. Emerging from the Pyrenees, the music was described as pyrenean pagan metal in the honor of our powerful and mystical mountains. Influenced by the mystical, animistic strenght of the deeps woods and the grandiose charm of the Pyrénées, the band develop on a short period a kind of dark, epic, raw & mystic metal.
The band record its first demo/rehearsal in 1991 called ''Master of nighlty forest ''(unpublished) , a second one 'De Paganus' (unpublished) in 1992. Then, in 1993, 'Dins Ech Cel d'Asteartia', sold more than 600 copies over the world. Mixing early 90's black metal, traditional metal & folkloric influences, the demo is considered as a typical dark pagan metal piece or, as said 'a fine piece of unconventional pagan metal'.
In 1992, the group has a contract proposal with EMBASSY Productions (french label) who publish such Gogoroth's first album.
The group splits in 1994. Fagus & Aherbelste co found STILLE VOLK then the same year.
In February 2015, SUS SCROFA is back with four new songs as a new demo untitled 'SINISTRE SYLVE

SUS SCROFA
Créé en 1991, Sus Scrofa est un des deux premiers groupes de pagan black métal en France (Avec PROPHECY) .
Le groupe réalise ses premiers enregistrements en 1991 avec la démo/répétition ''Master of nightly forest'' (non publiée) et 'De Paganus' (non publiée), en 1992. Puis, en 1993, 'Dins Ech Cel d'Asteartia', vendue à plus de 600 exemplaires. Le groupe produit un métal teinté de black métal première vague, de métal traditionnel et de sonorités folkloriques autour de thèmes animistes, païens creusant ainsi le sillon d'un style à peine naissant dans l'underground à cette période. L'écho important dans l'underground de 'Dins Ech Cel d'Asteartia' en fait un réalisation reconnue encore aujourd'hui.
En 1992, le groupe reçoit une proposition de contrat par le label français EMBASSY Productions qui éditera notamment le premier album de Gorgoroth.
Le groupe splitte en 1994. Fagus & Aherbelste fondent alors STILLE VOLK dès cette année là.
En 2015, SUS SCROFA est de retour avec 4 nouveaux titres : SINISTRE SYLVE.
